Make Crafting Skills Truly Meaningful / Hard Crafting Leveling
I’d love to suggest that smithing (and crafting skills in general) should take significant time and dedication to level—similar to how it's handled in games like RuneScape. The idea is to prevent a situation where every player can easily craft the best gear, and instead reward those who truly commit to the role of a craftsman.
This would:
Create a real sense of identity and specialization for dedicated crafters.
Make high-tier gear feel more valuable and earned.
Encourage player interaction and trading, enriching the in-game economy.
Add long-term progression and replayability.
It would be awesome if only the most dedicated smiths could create the top-tier equipment, making those roles feel impactful and rewarding.

Maybe you could make the best items in the game very hard to craft not because of just grinding to get the highest level, but actually making the mini game so hard that to do it well requires a lo of practice and skill, sort of how games like beat saber can get really hard. And for legendary items or any sort of very complicated items, have an extremely difficult minigame no matter your level. So it gets easier up to some point and then it doesn’t get any easier, that way they are made naturally valuable and not artificially valuable. I hope this helps in some way and good luck! :) -

EzequielI actually really like this. Would also make the social aspects of the game much more plausible as players who didn’t want to become craftsmen have to talk to the players that did and etc
